In a system composed of devices designed to monitor and control processes and a control system used to regulate them, transmission protocols allow information exchange between the devices and the control system. These devices (generally known as substation in the energy industry) supply the control system with
current measured data from the process, while the control system regulates the devices and the process through commands.
The connection between the control system and the devices occurs through a serial or network-based transfer mode system. The transmission protocol runs over the connection, assuring that the information exchange between the control system and substation occurs securely.
A lot of different transmission protocols are implemented worldwide. The protocols are partly manufacturer specific, or released for a limited use range, or simply conditioned by the transmission technique.
Due to the demand for open systems, in the last years many manufacturer-independent standard protocols have been developed: the IEC 60870-5 family, MODBUS, DNP3/IEEE 1815 and IEC 61850.

We have implemented various protocols on different platforms and put them in operation, partially on site. Among these protocols is the entire IEC 60870-5 family, MODBUS, DNP3/IEEE 1815 and IEC 61850.
We are particularly proud of our broad know how about IEC 60870-5-104, the implementation of IEC 60870-5-101 based on TCP/IP. COMPROTware:Testtool has worldwide
demonstrated its efficiency and user friendliness with this protocol.
Real-Time Applications are systems that record real world events, react rapidly on them and cause a reaction to the real world. The software used in a car´s ABS or a washing machine is a Real-Time Application.
Real-time systems are very complex, due to the parallel processing of software, the very prompt link to changes in the real world, and
the fulfilment of "Mission Critical Tasks". Thus, for development Software Engineering, methods are mandatory for us. Only through proceeding analysis and on time, extensive design, the successful implementation of a task is possible.
Our main focus lies on the industrial sectors of communication and Transmission Protocols (fieldbus and telecontrol protocols), automation&control, as well as transport and automotive engineering.
We prefer to use the real-time operating system VxWorks from WindRiver Systems, however we have acquired know how in broad range of other development environments and target platforms.

zu überwachen, sind heute Grafikanwendungen unumgänglich. Techniker und Ingenieur in Versuchsfahrzeugen, in Leitstationen für Strom, Gas, Wasser und Fernwärme und bei der Forschung mit Großteleskopen sind ohne Einsatz moderner Grafikanwendungen von der Informationsflut überfordert.
Grafikanwendungen dienen in unserem Umfeld zur Visualisierung und zur Steuerung von Echtzeitapplikationen.
Die Plattform zur Visualisierung soll unser Kunde bestimmen: Ob unter MS Windows mit Microsoft .NET oder Linux mit Java, wir steuern und visualisieren Echtzeit.
Unsere Kompetenz im Design und in der Implementierung von Grafikanwendungen haben wir eindrucksvoll mit unserem Produkt COMPROTware:Testtool bewiesen. Unsere Kunden sind von der Bedienerfreundlichkeit und vom effizienten Einsatz des Integrierten Test- und Analysetools immer wieder sehr beeindruckt.

object oriented requirements, with the help of software configuration management, and intensive software testing we make highly portable software.
Every development starts with the creation of requirement and design documents. This costs more time in the initial phase, however, this time will be won back during implementation, testing and through customer satisfaction.
